Detective James Dougal

Detective James Dougal has been in law enforcement since 1996. He started his policing career with the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office and had the opportunity to work as a patrol deputy, background investigator and Marine Patrol deputy.

After graduating from the Marine Academy, he taught boating safety classes and patrolled all waterways to include the white water rapids of the North Umpqua River and the Pacific Ocean.

He transferred to the Goodyear Police Department in 2005 and served as a patrol FTO before being promoted to detective. He’s currently assigned to the person’s crime unit and is the department’s detective FTO.

Detective Dougal became an AHIA member in 2007.
